Concept: The speed of the cyclist and car will be the distance covered by them in particular time period.

Given: Distance covered by cyclist = 27 km

and time taken by cyclist = 3 hr

Distance covered by car = 70 km

and time taken by car= 2 hr

Find: Ratio of the speed of the cycle and speed of the car

Solution:

Speed of the cycle = \frac{Distance\ covered}{time\ taken}

Speed of the cycle = \frac{27\ km}{3\ hr} = 9\ kmph

Speed of the car = \frac{70\ km}{2\ hr} = 35\ kmph

Therefore,

Ratio of the speed of the cyclist to the speed of the car = 9:35
