a cyclist travels a distance of 4 km from A to B and then moves a distance of 3 km at right angle to AB, Find his resultant displacement and total distance travelled.

The figure that you will attain after drawing the figure will be a right angle triangle so the displacement is the hypotenuse...
The answer will be in Pythagoras theorem
16+9=25
Sq foot of 25=5 so the displacement travelled is 5km from A towards C
(Direction is also important)
