A cylinder and a cone are of the same base radius and of the same height. Find the ratio of the curved surface area of the cylinder to that of cone.

║⊕ANSWER⊕║

GIVEN

Radius of cone = Radius of cylinder = r

Height of cone= height of cylinder = h

CSA of Cylinder = 2πrh

CSA of Cone = πrl

Ratio : \frac{2\pi rh}{\pi rl }

l^{2} = r^{2} + h^{2}

∴ The required ratio of CSA of cylinder to cone is

\frac{2h}{\sqrt{r^{2} + h^{2} } }
