A cylinder, has a top and bottom which are half-circles. The radius of the half circles are 8 cm. The height of the prism is 13 cm. Find the surface area. (Please show the formula instead of just the answer)

Radius of the semicircle, r= 8 cm

Diameter of the base, d= 16 cm

Now,

the total surface area (TSA) of the object = 1/2(2πrh) + 2 × 1/2(πr^2) + d×h

= πrh + πr^2 + 2rh

= r(πh + πr + 2h)

= 8(22/7×13 + 22/7×8 + 2×13)

= 8(386/7 + 176/7 + 26)

= 8(562/7 + 26)

= 8(80.285 + 26)

= 8(106.285)

= 850.28 sq. cm

Therefore, the surface area is 850.28 sq. cm.
