Height of cylinder is 2 inches.

Given:

  • A cylinder has a volume of 18π cubic inches.
  • If the radius is 3 inches.

To find:

  • What is the height of the cylinder in inches?

Solution:

Formula to be used:

Volume of cylinder:\bf \pi {r}^{2} h \\

here, r: radius of cylinder and h: height

Step 1:

Put the given values.

As,

\pi {r}^{2} h = 18\pi \\

cancel π from both sides.

 {r}^{2} h = 18 \\

or

\bf h =  \frac{18}{ {r}^{2}  } \\

Step 2:

Put the value of r.

As, r= 3 inches.

h =  \frac{18}{ {3}^{2} }  \\

or

h =  \frac{18}{9}  \\

or

\bf \red{h = 2}\\

Thus,

Height of cylinder is 2 inches.
