A cylinder is 3m high and it's circumference of its base is 22m .find its curved surface area .

Solution:-

Given:-

Height = 3m

Circumference = 22m

 = > circumference = 2\pi \: r \\ \\ = > 22 = 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times r \\ \\ = > r = \frac{22 \times 7}{22 \times 2} \\ \\ = > r = \frac{7}{2} \\ \\ = > r = 3.5m

Now,

Radius = 3.5m

Hence,

Curved Surface Area of Cylinder =
 = > 2\pi \: r \: h + 2\pi {r}^{2} \\ \\ = > 2\pi \: r(h + r) \\ \\ = > 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 3.5( \: 3\: + 3.5) \\ \\ = >

=> 2 × 3.14 × 3.5 × 6.5

=> 142.87 cm.

AND____

Curved Surface Area = 2 × 22/7 × 7/2 × 3

=> 66cm.

Then ,

2πr=22

r= 7/2

h= 3 cm

Curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh

                                                     = 2*22/7*7/2*3

                                                     = 66 cm^2 (Answer).
