A cylinder is made from a piece of brass fitted to a piece of wood. A strip of paper is glued around the middle. The paper is then heated over a Bunsen burner flame. After a while, one end of the paper is noticeably more scorched than the other. Explain why this happens

Answer:heat conduction capability is different

Explanation:Brass is a good heat conductor while wood is a good heat insulator .which is why under a flame ,the brass part gets heated up faster .Thus leading to more burn marks on the brass side of the paper .
