A cylinder is open at one end. The external diameter is 15cm and its thickness is 3 cm. If the height of the cylinder is 11 cm and 1 qubic cm is 9 gm, find (i) THE CAPACITY OF THE CYLINDER. (ii) WEIGHT OF THE METAL USED IN THE CYLINDER. (π= 3.14)​

capacity= πr 2h=3.14x4.5^2 x 11

= 699.435cm3. Ans:

Weight of metal:=Volx9

Vol:

= πh (R+r) (R-r) +πR^h

= πx11 (7.5+4.5) 3+πx7.5^2 x3

= πx11 x 12x3 +168.75π

=396 π +168.75π = 564.75πcm3

= 1773.315cm3.

Weight of metal=1773.315x9

=15959.8358=15.960kg Ans
