A cylinder of base radius r and height h is dipped vertically to half the height in a bucket full of purple paint. Find the area of the surface which gets painted.

Radius = r
Height= h
now, it is dipped half so height will be h/2
So, the area got dipped = base area + lateral surface area that get dipped
=πr²+2πrh/2
=πr(r+2h/2)
=πr(r+h)
