Given :  A cylinder of diameter 16 cm and height 19 cm is surmounted by

a conical solid of same diameter and height 6 cm.

To Find :  the total surface area of the solid.

Solution:

Diameter = 16 cm

=> radius r = 16/2  = 8 cm

Height of cylinder = h = 19 cm

Height of cone = 6 cm

Slant height of cone L = √8² + 6² = 10  cm

Total Surface area = πr²  + 2πrh  + πrL

= πr (r   + 2h  +  L)

= (22/7) * 8  x ( 8  + 2(19)  + 10)

= (176/7) ( 56)

= 176 * 8

= 1408 cm²

Total Surface area = 1408 cm²
