A cylinder of height 7cm has the circumference of base as 22 cm find curved surface area of cyliender​

Given:-

  • Height of cylinder = 7cm
  • Circumference of base = 22cm

To find :-

  • Curved Surface area of the cylinder.

Solution:-

Circumference of the base of cylinder = 22cm

We know,

Circumference =  2\pi r

=  22 =  2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times r

=  \frac {22 \times 7}{22} = r

=> r = 7 cm

Now,

Curved Surface Area of a cylinder =  2\pi r h

 \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: = 2 \times \frac {22}{7} \times 7 \times 7

 \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: = 2 \times 22 \times 7 = 44 \times 7 = 308 {cm}^{2}

Hence the curved surface are of the cylinder is 308cm².
