Given data : A cylinderical vessel of radius 15 cm and height 32 cm is filled with Rasna. The Rasna is filled in small cylinderical glasses of radius 3 cm upto height 8 cm and sold for Rs 12 each.

To find : How much money the person receives by selling Rasna ?

Solution : according to given data,

⟹ Radius of cylindrical vessel = 15 cm

⟹ Height of cylindrical vessel = 32 cm

⟹ Radius of cylindrical glasses = 3 cm

⟹ Height of cylindrical glasses = 8 cm

⟹ Selling price of each glass of rasna = Rs 12

Firstly, we have to find out, the volume of cylindrical vesse

⟹ volume of cylindrical vessel = πr²h

{where, r is radius and h is height}

⟹ volume of cylindrical vessel = 22/7 * 15² * 32

⟹ volume of cylindrical vessel = 22/7 * 30 * 32

⟹ volume of cylindrical vessel = 22/7 * 960

⟹ volume of cylindrical vessel = 21120/7 cm³ ----{1}

Now,

⟹ volume of cylindrical glasses = πr²h

⟹ volume of cylindrical glasses = 22/7 * 3² * 8

⟹ volume of cylindrical glasses = 22/7 * 9 * 8

⟹ volume of cylindrical glasses = 22/7 * 72

⟹ volume of cylindrical glasses = 1584/7 cm³ ----{2}

Now, from {1} and {2}

⟹ Quantity of rasna glasses sold = {21120/7}/{1584/7}

⟹ Quantity of rasna glasses sold = 21120/1584

⟹ Quantity of rasna glasses sold = 40/3

Now,

⟹ Received money from selling rasna

= Quantity of rasna glasses * Selling price of each glass

⟹ Received money from selling rasna

= 40/3 * 12

⟹ Received money from selling rasna

= 480/3

⟹ Received money from selling rasna

= Rs 160.

Answer : Money the person receives by selling Rasna is Rs 160.
