A cylindrical bucket 42 cm in diameter and 50 cm high is full of water. The water is emptied into a rectangular tank 66cm long and 21 cm wide. Find the height of the water level in the tank.

For cylindrical bucket,
diameter(d) = 42 cm
radius(r) = d÷2 = 21 cm
height(h) = 50 cm
Volume of water filled = π²rh
= 22/7×21×50
=22×3×50
=3300 cm²

For rectangular tank,
length = 66 cm
breadth = 21 cm
height = ?
Volume of water filled = l×b×h
3300 = 66×21×h
3300 = 1386×h
h = 3300÷1386
h = 2.38 cm (approximately)
