A cylindrical coil of copper wire has 700 turns each of diameter 4cm.
a. Use the value 22/7 for π to find the total length of the wire. Give your answer in metres.

Answer:

Number of turns on the cylinder = 700

Length of one turn = 4cm * 22/7

                               = 88/7 cm

Total length of wire = 88/7 cm * 700 turns

                                 =  88 * 100

                                  = 8800 cm             in meters = 8800cm/100cm

                                                                                   = 88 m
