A cylindrical container is to be made of tin. The height of the container is 1 m and the diameter of the base is 1 m. If the container is open at the top and tin sheet costs Rs 308 per m2 , what will be the cost of tin for making the container?​

Height=1m

Diameter of base=1m

radius=(D/2)m=1/2m

The cylinder is open at the top.

Therefore, required equation=

TSA of cylinder-Area of top base=Area of required tin =[2πr(r+h)] - πr^2=[2*22/7*1/2(1/2+1)]-22/7*(1/2)^2

=[44/14*3/2]-11/14=132/28-11/14=3.92 Sq.m

Cost for 1 Sq.m=₹308

cost for 3.92 Sq.m=₹(3.92*308)= ₹1207.36
