Solution:-
Given : Radius of the cylindrical container = 28 cm
Dimensions of the rectangular solid or cuboid i.e. L = 32 cm, B = 22 cm and H = 14 cm
Let the height of the water level be 'x' cm.
So, the volume of the water displaced by the rectangular solid = volume of the cylindrical container
∴ L × B × H = π*r²*h
∴ 32 × 22 × 14 = 22/7 × 28 × 28 × x
x = (32 × 22 × 14 × 7)/(22 × 28 × 28)
x = 4 cm
So, the rise in the water level is 4 cm when the solid is completely submerged.
