Diameter of a cylindrical jar ,D = 9 cm

Radius of a cylindrical jar (R) = 9/2 cm

Depth of a cylindrical jar (H) = 12 cm

Diameter of a cylindrical glass ,d = 6 cm

Radius of the cylindrical glass , r = 6/2 = 3 cm.

To find: Depth of the milk in the glass

Solution :

Let the depth of the milk in the cylindrical glass be h cm .

Volume of a cylindrical jar is equal to the volume of cylindrical glass

Volume of cylindrical jar = Volume of cylindrical glass

πR²H = πr²h

R²H = r²h

(9/2)² × 12 = 3² × h

81/4 × 12 = 9 × h

81 × 3 = 9 × h

h = (81 × 3)/ 9

h = 9 × 3

h = 27 cm

Hence, the depth of the milk in the cylindrical glass is 27 cm.
