Solution

Height of cylinder = 3.5cm

Diameter of cylinder=50cm

Radius of cylinder = Diameter/2 = 50/2=25cm

We know that

\sf{Curved \:  surface  \: area \:  of  \: cylinder(C.S.A  \: of  \: cylinder )= 2\pi r h }

\sf{C.S.A of cylinder = 2 \times   \dfrac{22}{7}    \times 25 \times  3.5 }

\sf{C.S.A of cylinder =44    \times 25 \times 0 .5 }

\sf{C.S.A of cylinder =44    \times 12 .5 }

\sf{C.S.A of cylinder =550 {cm}^{2}  }

Now,

The cost of painting 1m² is given as Rs.12.50

  • Therefore, the cost of painting 550cm² will be equal to = 12.50 × 550 = Rs.6875
