Given ;

  • Depth of the pit = 5 m
  • Radius of the pit = 2 m

To find ;

Volume of the soil dug out.

Something regarding the solution ;

As we know, The pit is in the form of cylinder so,

 \bf\green{\pi {r}^{2}h} = \rm\red{ Volume \: of \:cylinder}

Solution :-

Given,

depth = 5 m

radius = 2 m

Volume of the cylinder =  \bf\pi {r}^{2}h

Given :-

  • Depth of cylindrical pit = 5m .
  • Radius of cylindrical pit = 2m .

To Find :-

  • The volume of soil dug out ?

Solution :-

we know that,

  • 1 m = 100 cm.
  • Volume of cylinder = π * (radius)² * height .

so,

  • Depth = height = 5 * 100 = 500 cm.
  • Radius = 2 * 100 = 200 cm.

then,

→ Volume = 3.14 * (200)² * 500

→ Volume = 3.14 * 40000 * 500

→ Volume = 62800000 cm³ = (62800000/1000000) = 62.8 m³ . (Ans.)
