A cylindrical roller is used to level a rectangular playground. The length of
the roller is 4 m and its diameter is 3 m. If the roller rolls over 300 times to
completely cover the playground, find the area of the playground.

Length of cylindrical roller = 4 m

Diameter of roller = 3 m

Radius of roller = 3/2 = 1.5 m

Curved surface area of roller = 2 \pi r h = 2 \times 3.14 \times 1.5 \times 4=37.68 m^22πrh=2×3.14×1.5×4=37.68m2

Area covered in 1 rotation = 37.68 sq.m.

Area covered in 300 rotations = 37.68 \times 300 =11304 m^237.68×300=11304m2

Hence  the area of the playground is 11304 sq.m.
