height of the cylinder = h= 40 inches
diameter = d = 2 inches
radius = d/2
r = 2/2 = 1 inch

volume of the cylindrical solid = πr²h cubic units
___________________________________________
V = 22/7 × 1² × 40
V = 880 / 7
V = 125.714 cubic inhes
