we know,

1l = 0.001 m^3

volume of cylindrical tank = 498.96 l = 0.49896 m^3

Height of cylinderical tank = 0.9m

Volume = pi*r^2h

0.49896 = 22/7*r^2*0.9

r^2 = 0.1764

r = 0.42 m

Given,

The volume of the cylindrical tank = 498.96 liters

The height of the cylindrical tank = 0.9m

To Find,

The radius of the base of the cylindrical tank =?

Solution,

Let the radius of the base of the cylindrical tank be r

We know that 1 liter = 0.001 m³

The volume of the cylindrical tank = 498.96 liters

The volume of the cylindrical tank = 498.96/1000 m³

From the formula of the volume of the cylinder, we have

The volume = πr²h

498.96/1000 m³ = πr² * 0.9

πr² = 0.498.96/0.9

πr² = 0.5544

r² = 0.5544 * 7 / 22

r² = 3.88 / 22

r² = 0.176

r = √0.176

r = 0.42m

Hence, the radius of the base of the cylindrical tank is 0.42m.
