The rise in water level is 0.245 mm

Solution:

Given that,

A cylindrical tank of radius 7m has water to some level

If 110 cubes of side 7cm are  completely immersed in it

To find: Rise in water level

Find the volume of 110 cubes of sides 7 cm

Volume\ of\ 1\ cube = side^3\\\\Volume\ of\ 1\ cube = 7^3\\\\Volume\ of\ 1\ cube = 343\ cm^3

Convert to meter

1 cm = 0.01 meter

Therefore,

343\ cm^3 = 343 \times 0.01^3\ m^3\\\\343\ cm^3 = 0.000343\ m^3

Thus, volume of 110 cubes is:

Volume\ of\ 110\ cubes = 0.000343 \times 110\\\\Volume\ of\ 110\ cubes = 0.03773\ m^3

Find volume of cylinder:

Volume\ of\ cylinder = \pi r^2 h\\\\Volume\ of\ cylinder = \frac{22}{7} \times 7^2 \times h\\\\Volume\ of\ cylinder = 22 \times 7 \times h

Therefore,

Volume of 110 cubes = volume of cylinder

0.03773 = 22 \times 7 \times h\\\\h = \frac{0.03773}{154}\\\\h = 0.000245\ m

h = 0.245 mm

Thus rise in water level is 0.245 mm
