A cylindrical tube open at both ends is made up of iron sheet of 3 cm thick if the external diameter is 10 cm and thickness 1 cm and height is 8 cm find the volume of the metal used in it​

Volume of cylinder =πr^2 hcm^  2  

Outer radius = 16/2=8 cm

Inner radius = 8−2=6 cm  

Volume =π(r′2−r2)h, where r' = outer radius and r = inner radius

=π×100×(82−62)=8792cm^3

Hence, 8792cm^3 of iron has been used in making the tube.
