A cylindrical vessel having diameter equal to its height is full of water into identical cylindrical vessel with diameter 42 cm and height 21 cm which are filled completely . find the diameter of the cylindrical vessel?

Answer :-

R and r are radii of the bigger and small cylinders respectively.

Similarly L and l are lengths of bigger and smaller cylinders respectively.

Volume of initial cylinder =2×(Volume of smaller cylinders)

πR 2 L=2πr 2 l2R 3 =2(21) 3

as L=2R

Hence,

Diameter =42 cm
