a cylindrical vessel of radius 3.5 cm and height 30 cm is fixed inside a similar cylindrical vessel of radius of 7 cm and height 30 cm the space between the two vessel is filled with cork dust. How many cubic centimeter of cork dust will be required.

Heya,

    We know,  

Volume of Cylinder = πr²h    


∵ Volume of Internal Cylinder  ​

= [22/7 × 3.5 × 3.5 × 30] cm³  

= [22/7 × 3.5 × 3.5 × 30] cm³  

= [22 × 5 × 3.5 × 3] cm³  

= 1,155 cm³    


∵ Volume of External Cylinder ​

= [22/7 × 7 × 7 × 30] cm³  

= [22 × 7 × 30] cm³  

= 4,620 cm³    

∴ Quantity of Cubic Dust required  

= [4,620 - 1,155] cm³  

= 3,465 cm³
