Given :-

  • A cylindrical vessel, open at the top, has a radius 10 cm and height 14 cm.

To find :-

  • Total surface area of the vessel

Solution :-

  • Radius of cylinder = 10cm

  • Height of cylinder = 14cm

As we know that

→ Total surface area of cylinder = 2πrh + 2πr²

Where " r " is radius and " h " is height of cylinder.

According to question

A cylindrical vessel, open at the top.

Total surface area of cylinder

→ Curved surface area + base area

→ 2πrh + πr²

→ πr(2h + r)

→ 3.14 × 10(2 × 14 + 10)

→ 314(28 + 10)

→ 314 × 38

→ 11932 cm²

Hence,

  • Total surface area of cylinder i.e open at the top is 11932 cm²

QuestioN :-

A cylindrical vessel, open at the top, has a radius 10 cm and height 14 cm. Find the total surface area of the vessel. (Take n = 3.14).

ANsWeR :-

Given :-

  • Radius of cylinder = 10 vm
  • Height of cylinder = 14 cm
  • π value = 3.14

To find :-

  • Total Surface Area of Cylinder

Solution :-

Total Surface Area of Cylinder = 2πr ( height + radius )

=> πr ( 2 × 10 + 14 )

=> 3.14 × 10 ( 28 + 10 )

=> 314 ( 38 )

=> 11932 cm²

Hence , the TSA of Cylinder is 11932 cm².
