Given:

diameter of the vessel = 42cm

radius of the vessel = \mathsf{\frac{42}{2}cm} = 21 cm

height of the vessel = 50 cm

let the radius and height be R and H respectively

According to the question, It is given that the top of the cylindrical vessel is opened.

So, we have to subtract the top part

Required Area = Total Surface Area - Area of the top part of the vessel

\mathsf{\implies\: 2\pi R(R+H) - \pi R^2}

\mathsf{\implies\: 2 × \frac{22}{7} × 21 (21 + 50) - \frac{22}{7} × (21)^2}

\mathsf{\implies\: 142 × 71 - 1486}

\mathsf{\implies\: 10082 - 1486}

\mathsf{\implies\: 8586 cm^2}

Cost of plating 100cm² = ₹12

So, cost of plating 8586cm² = ₹85.86 × 12

===> ₹1030.32
