a cylindrical vessel whose ends are closed by means of rigid flanges plates is made of steel plate 3mm thik. internal length and diameter of vessels are 50mm and 25mm respectively.datermine the longitudinal and circumstantial stress in the cylindrical shells due to internal fluids pressure of 3mn\m^2. also calculated increase in length
diameter and volume of the vessel.take E= 200GN\m^2 and 1\m= 0.3

Thin cylinder failure due to internal fluid pressure by the formation of circumferential stress and longitudinal stress. The internal pressure which is acting radially inside the thin cylinder is known as radial pressure in thin cylinder. 2 Hoop stress is assumed to be constant throughout the wall thickness.
