the length of the vessel h = 35 cm
diameter = 28 cm
therefore the radius of the cylindrical vessel r = 28/2 = 14 cm
the surface area without lid = 2πr h+πr^2 =>2*227*14*35+227*14*14 =>3080+616=3696 cm2

Answer:

3080 cm^2 or 0.308 m^2 is the total required area of the sheet.

Explanation:

The curved surface area of the cylinder =
2\pi \times r \times h

Here,
r= 28/2 = 14cm
h= 35cm

Therefore,

the area of the metal sheet required= the curved surface area of the cylinder

= 2*π*r*h

=( 2* 22/7 * 14 * 35) cm^2

= 3080 cm^2 or 0.3080 m^2
