Diameter of cylinderical vessel=28cm
Radius of cylinderical vessel=14cm
Height of cylinderical vessel=35cm
Area of metal required=2πrh+πr^2
=2(22/7)(14)(35)+(22/7)(49)
=3234cm^2

Answer:

The area of cylindrical vessel without a lid is 3694.51 cm².

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A cylindrical vessels without a lid is made from a sheet of metal. If the length of the vessels is 35 cm and its diameter is 28 cm.

To  find : The area of the metal required?

Solution :

The diameter of cylinder is 28 cm

The height is 35 cm.

The radius of the cylinder is

r=\frac{d}{2}=\frac{28}{2}=14

The curved surface area of cylinder is

A_1=2\pi rh\\A_1=2\pi (14)(35)\\A_1=3078.76\\

The area of base is

A_2=\pi r^2\\A_2=\pi (14)^2\\A_2=615.7522

The area of cylindrical vessel without a lid is

A=A_1+A_2\\A=3078.76+615.7521\\A=3694.5121\approx 3694.51

Therefore, The area of cylindrical vessel without a lid is 3694.51 cm².
