Answer:

let he come to work on time for X days

he come late to work for Y days

tottal no. of working days is 23

so,

X+Y=23

y=23-x

his 1day pay is 400

his Xdays pay is 400x

his 1day late fine is 100

so he get wage when he late 400-100=300

his ydays wages = 300y

tottal money earned is 8000

so,

400x+300y=8000

on putting value of y=23-x

we get,

400x+300(23-x)=8000

400x+6900-300x=8000

100x=1100

x=11

y=23-x

y=23-11=12

hence the no. he reached for work on time is 11

the no. of days he was late is 12
