Cost price of 1 litre milk = ₹6
adds one third of water to it
1/3 of 1 litre = 1/3litre = 0.33litre
so the combination of water and milk = 1 + 0.33 litre = 1.33 litre..
the cost of 1.33 litres of milk (mixed with water) = ₹6
then cost of 1 litre will be
(6/1.33)×1= 4.51 = cost price
selling Price =7.20.
Selling Price > Cost price
so profit exists
profit/gain = selling Price - cost price
= 7.20 - 4.51
=2.69
the proportion of water to milk received by the customers is
in 1.33 ltrs mixture; water content = 0.33
then for 1 litre..the proportion of water to mixture
(0.33/1.33)×100 = 24.8 = 1/4 (Approx)
