A dam has a broader base to withstand the pressure of water....
Coz the pressure of water is maximun at the bottom...
Hope it helps...
if this works, mark brainliest

Godzeye1111: Pressure exerted by a liquid increases with its depth. Thus as depth increases ,more pressure is exeryed by the water on the wall of the dam.A thicker wall is required to withstand a greater pressure, therefore, the wall of the dam is made with thickness increasing towards its base.
haribbanshmahap78c5j: thank you
Godzeye1111: Welcome

A dam has broader wall at bottom than on top so that it can bear the water pressure on bottom because in a water body pressure is most in bottom of it Hope it will help you If it then mark as brainliest
