Given : The range of the data is between 50 and 90, and the distribution is skewed left.

To Find : Which measure of center, the mean or median, is probably a better representation of the data

Solution:

Negative skewness ,  Left Skewed

Mean < median   < Mode

positive  skewness , Right skewed

Mode < Median < Mean

Median lies in between  in both cases Hence Median is  better representation

Median is the  better representation of the data when data is skewed  or has  outliers

As Given that  the distribution is skewed left

Hence Median is the  better representation of the data
