A dealer bought 80 kg of salt at ₹4 per kg. He sold 50 kg at ₹6 per kg and the remaining at ₹4 per kg. Find his gain and gain%.​

Cost price for 80 kg = 384

Let the selling price be x/kg.

So selling price for 80 kg = 80x

Since the shopkeeper has suffered a loss

Loss= cost price- selling price= 384-80x

Also, loss= the amount he received for 16 kg = 16x

So, 384-80x = 16x

By solving the equation,

X= 4

Hence, the selling price of rice per kg was Rs 4.
