a dealer bought 80kg salt at Rs 4 per kg . he sells 50 kg at Rs 6 per kg and the remaining at Rs 4 per kg . find his gain and gain %​

Cost price for 80 kg = 384

Let the selling price be x/kg.

So selling price for 80 kg = 80x

Since the shopkeeper has suffered a loss

Loss= cost price- selling price= 384-80x

Also, loss= the amount he received for 16 kg = 16x

So, 384-80x = 16x

By solving the equation,

X= 4

Hence, the selling price of rice per kg was Rs 4.
