A dealer buys 50 chairs for rupees 50000 but 20 of them are damaged he decided to sell each damaged chair at three fourth of the price of normal chair what should this price be of a normal chair and a damaged chair in order that he may make a profit of 35% on the whole transaction ?​

Answer:

cost price (cp) of 50 chair = ₹50000

cp of 1 chair = 50000/ 50

= ₹1000

selling price (sp) of 1 damage chair = 3/4 × 1000

= ₹750

no of damage chair = 20

sp of 20 damage chair = 20 × 750

= ₹15000

ATQ ( according to question)

profit% = 35%

therefore,

profit = gain / cp ×100

35 = gain / 50000 × 100

35 = gain / 500

35 × 500 = gain

gain = ₹17500

gain = sp - cp

17500 = sp - 50000

17500 + 50000 = sp

sp = ₹67500

sp of normal chair = total sp - sp of damage chair

= 67500 - 15000

= ₹52500

price of 1 normal chair is = 52500÷ 30

= ₹1750
