Cost price =₹1250
Selling price =40℅ above the Cp
I.e. 40℅of 1250+1250
=₹1750

He give 8℅discount
8℅ of 1750
 \frac{8}{100}  \times 1750 \\  = 140
Therefore,
The final Selling price=Sp-Discount
=1750-140
=1610

Profit =Sp-Cp
=1610-1250
=360

Profile percentage=
 =  \frac{profit}{cp}  \times 100 \\  =  \frac{360}{1610}  \times 100 \\ =  22.36\%
