Given : A dealer buys a bicycle for Rs 1250 and marks it at 40% above its cost price. if he allows 8% discount,

To find :   the selling price of the bicycle

Solution:

A dealer buys a bicycle for Rs 1250

=> Cost price = Rs 1250

marks it at 40% above its cost

=> Mark up price  = 1250  + (40/100) 1250

= 1250 +  500

= 1750

allows 8% discount,  = (8/100) 1750 =  140 Rs

Selling Price = 1750 - 140   =  1610  Rs

selling price of the bicycle  is Rs 1610

Given :- A dealer buys a bicycle for Rs 1250 and marks it at 40% above its cost price. if he allows 8% discount,find the selling price of the bicycle .

Answer :-

→ CP = Rs.1250

→ MP = 40% above CP = (1250 * 140)/100 = Rs.1750 .

now,

→ MP = Rs.1750

→ Discount = 8%

so,

→ SP = MP * (100 - D%)/100 = (1750 * 92)/100 = Rs.1610 (Ans.)
