Let the conductivity of article=₹100

If the dealer marks 25% more on cp then

MRP=₹125

Now he gives discount of 10% on MRP

So
SP= 125X90/100=112.5

SP>CP
so that he get profit or gain
Gain=112.5-100=₹12.5

Gain%=gain/cp x100

Gain%=(12.5/100) x100 =12.5%

let the C.P be x
then its selling price is x+ \frac{25}{100} *x= x+ \frac{1}{4} x= \frac{5}{4} x
discount given = 10/100 * 5/4x = 1/8 x
article sold for = 5/4x-1/8x = 9/8x
profit earned in percentage = 100( \frac{9}{8} x - x) /x = 1/8* 100 = 100/8 = 12.5 % gain
