Let the original cost be x

After marking up the goods at 35 %, the price becomes x+ \frac{20x}{100}

=Rs1.14x

After 5 % discount, the selling price  becomes 0.95 of 1.14x=0.95×1.14=Rs1.14 x

Given, Gain = ?

=>S.P−C.P.=gain

=>Rs1.14 x−228=gain

=>Gain =Rs 226.86
