CORRECT Qᴜᴇsᴛɪᴏɴ :- A dealer sold a dvd player and a TV for rs 10,750 making a profit of 10•/• on dvd player and 15•/• on Tv if By selling them for rs 10,625 he would have realised a profit of 15•/• on Dvd player and 10•/• on Tv..

Find The CP of Both DVD player and TV ?

Sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ :-

Let us Assume That, CP of DVD player is Rs.x & CP of TV is Rs.y .

Case 1 :-

⟿ (x + 10% of x) + (y + 15% of y) = 10750

⟿ 1.1x + 1.15y = 10750 --------- Equation (1) .

Case 2 :-

⟿ (x + 15% of x) + (y + 10% of y) = 10625

⟿ 1.15x + 1.1y = 10625 --------- Equation (2) .

Now, Multiply Equation (1) By 1.15x & Equation (2) by 1.1 and Than Subtracting Equation (2) From Equation (1) , we get,

⟿ 1.15(1.1x + 1.15y) - 1.1(1.15x + 1.1y) = 1.15*10750 - 1.1*10625

⟿ (1.15*1.1x - 1.1*1.15x) + (1.15*1.15y - 1.1*1.1y) = 12362.5 - 11687.5

⟿ 1.3225y - 1.21y = 675

⟿ (0.1125)y = 675

⟿ y = Rs.6000 (Ans.)

Putting value of y in Equation (1) Now, we get,

⟿ 1.1x + 1.15*6000 = 10750

⟿ 1.1x + 6900 = 10750

⟿ 1.1x = 10750 - 6900

⟿ 1.1x = 3850

⟿ x = Rs.3500 .(Ans.)

Hence, Cost Price of TV was Rs.6000 & Cost Price of DVD was Rs.3500.

\mathcal{\huge{\underline{\underline{\red{Question}}}}}

✳ A dealer sold a dvd player and a TV for rs 10,750 making a profit of 10•/• on dvd player and 15•/• on Tv if By selling them for rs 10,625 he would have realised a profit of 15•/• on Dvd player and 10•/• on Tv.

\mathcal{\huge{\underline{\underline{\green{Answer:-}}}}}

The CP of TV was rupee 6000 & The CP of DVD was rupee 3500.

\mathcal{\huge{\underline{\underline{\pink{Solution:-}}}}}

According to the question ,

Considering, CP of DVD as Rs.x & CP of TV is Rs.y.

IᑎᔑᎢᗩᑎᑕᗴ-Ꮖ

(x +10% of x) + (y +15% of y) = 10750

1.1x +1.15y = 10750__________[1]

IᑎᔑᎢᗩᑎᑕᗴ-ᏆᏆ

(x+15% of x) + (y + 10% of y) = 10625

115x +1.1y = 10625___________[2]

Here, we have to multiply (1) By 1.15x & (2) by 1.1 , then subtract (2) from (1), we get,

Calculation :-

➡1.15(1.1x + 115y) - 1.1(115x +1.1y) = 1.15×10750 - 1.110625

➡ (1.15×11x -1.1×1.15x)+(1.15×115y - 11 × 1.1y)= 12362.5- 11687.5

➡1.3225y -1.21y = 675

➡(0.1125)y = 675

y= Rs.6000

Now, Putting value of y in (1) , So

➡1.1x+1.15×6000 = 10750

➡1.1x +6900 10750

➡1.1x = 10750-6900

➡1.1x = 3850

x = Rs.3500
