Given :- A dealer sold a refrigerator for Rs. 33900 including 13% VAT to the retailer. Find the original price (excluding VAT) for the retailer. If the retailer spent Rs. 1100 on transportation cost Rs. 5000 on local tax and made Rs. 10000 profit and then supplied to a customer, how much did the customer pay the VAT amount and the price with VAT ?

Solution :-

for dealer :-

→ SP = Rs.33900

→ VAT = 13% .

→ VAT price = 13% of 33900 = (13 * 33900) / 100 = Rs.4407 .

→ SP with VAT price = 33900 + 4407 = Rs.38,307 .

for retailer :-

→ Transport cost = Rs.1100

→ Local tax = Rs.5000 .

→ Profit = Rs.10,000

→ CP = Rs.38,307

→ Total amount = 1100 + 5000 + 10000 + 38307 = Rs.54,407 .

also,

→ VAT = 13%

→ VAT price = 13% of 54407 = (13 * 54407) / 100 = Rs.7072.91 .

Therefore,

The customer pay the VAT amount = Rs.7072.91

→ The price with VAT = 54407 + 7072.91 = Rs.61,479.91 .
