Step-by-step explanation:

Spee of deer = 15m/s

Time =5 sec

Distance traveled by deer in 5 sec when tiger do not see the deer

Distance = speed × time

= 15 × 5

=75 m

Now to caught the deer, the tiger has to cover extra 75 m as it starts to run 5sec late till that

the deer has been covered 75m of extra distance.

So the total distance which tiger has to cover =100 +75=175 m

Speed of tiger = 40m/s

Time taken = Distance /speed

= 175/40

= 4.3 sec

Tiger will take 4.3 sec to caught the deer

Answer:

7 seconds

deer gains extra 75 m (15*5) in 5 seconds

total distance is now 175 m (100+75)

tiger gain 25m/s (40-15)

time taken to catch the deer 175/25=7 seconds
