Answer:

1 Kilowatt hour is the energy spent by a source containing 1 kilowatt of power in 1 hour.

1 kWh = 3.6  ×  10^{6}  J

We know that the S.I. unit of energy is J (joule).

How to convert to the S.I. unit of Energy:

1 kWh  =  1 kilowatt  ×  1 hour

           =  1000 J/s  ×  60s  ×  60s

           = 1000  J/s  ×  3600s [Here, you can cancel the unit 's']

           =  3600000  J

           =  3.6  ×  10^{6}  J
