(a) Define dispersion of light. How is scattering of light different from dispersion ? Give one
example of natural phenomenon based on each of these.
(b) A beam of light consisting of red, blue and yellow is incident on the prisms as shown below.

Dispersion. Visible light is actually made up of different colors. Each color bends by a different amount when refracted by glass. That's why visible light is split, or dispersed, into different colors when it passes through a lens or prism.An example of a dispersion is the colored rays of light coming from a prism which has been hung in a sunny window.

light ray of different colour travel in same speed in vacuum , and air but in another medium when it refract itt bends through different angle in different medium and different speed , this lead to diepersion of light
