Answer: Khichadi is one of my favourite dishes. I learned to cook khichadi from my mother. So here I am going to share my mother's recipe for preparing khichadi.

Here is the process for my recipe for khichadi:
- Basmati Rice 200gm
- Moong/Masoor/Anker dal
- Cumin Powder – 2 teaspoons.
- Red Chili Powder – 1teaspoon.
- Ginger Paste – 1/2 teaspoon.
- Cummins (integrated) 1 teaspoon.
- Green Chili (Chopped) 4/5 pieces.
- Garam Masala Powder -1 teaspoon.
- Potato (Chopped) 3 large size.
- Tomato (chopped) 2 medium size.
- Cauliflower (chopped) – 2 cups
- Peas – 100 gm.
- Brinjal (Chopped) – 1 large size.
- Carrot (Chopped) 2 medium size.
- Oil 150 ml.
- Sugar – 1 tea spoon.
- Salt – to taste.
Procedure:
- Heat a pan and add 2 tsp oil and warm it for 2 minutes
- Wash dal properly and add it to the pan and then fry it for 5 minutes then remove it from the pan.
- Wash the rice properly and then again heat pan and add oil and add the rice and fry it for 2-3 minutes. Remove rice from the pan
- Pour oil into the pan and add jeera /cumin and heat it for 2-3 minutes
- Then add chopped potatoes, tomatoes, peas, brinjal, cauliflowers, and carrots.
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, ginger paste, green chilies chopped.
- Add everything together and add enough water and close the lid of pressure cooker.
- Cook for 3 whistles and serve hot.
