People have the right to chose who is going to take right dicisions for the country on behalf of them.
Since the government is made by the people the people can also remove the government if they find them incapable of ruling the country.
So the democratic government is accountable and responsive towards the needs and wants of the people.
It's not only provides opportunities to the majority but also protects the rights of the minority.
People can also consult the government directly or indirectly if their need and wants are not fulfilled.
So it is an accountable govt.

we cannot say absolutely that a democratic government is good but we can say that a democratic government is better than other forms of government because
1.it gives a chance us to select our favourite leader .
2.we can change our leader after election .
3.we can oppose the government
4.we can do Rally against government
