A department store offers a promotion for the customers who have receipts with a minimum

purchase of Php 2,000 worth of shopping goods. They get a chance to spin two identical spinners

with 8 partitions, each of which is labelled with different prizes. The customer wins if the two
spinners stopped at the same labelled price. Find the probability of winning the prize?​

To Find : Find the probability of winning the prize

Solution:

Let say 8 different partitions on  each spinners are A , B , C , D , E , F , G , H

Total possible outcome = 8 * 8 = 64

 The customer wins if the two spinners stopped at the same labelled price.

= { (AA) , ( BB) , (CC) , (DD), (EE) , (FF) , (GG) , (HH) |

= 8 ways

the probability of winning the prize   = 8/64

= 1/8

the probability of winning the prize    = 1/8
